What is a PIF ?
The Product Information File (PIF) is a key regulatory document required for cosmetic products under the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive. It contains detailed technical and safety information that demonstrates the quality, safety, and compliance of a cosmetic product.
The PIF must be maintained by the responsible company placing the product on the market and should be readily available for inspection by the relevant regulatory authorities when required.
Under the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive, Annex I, Part 5, the requirements and structure of the Product Information File (PIF) are described to ensure that sufficient information is available to demonstrate the safety and quality of cosmetic products placed on the market.
The Product Information File (PIF) is typically structured into four main parts:
- Part I: Administrative Documents and Product Summary
