CUSTOMER PROCESS

Step 1: Have you done EN 13697 for your product?

PAS 2424 was designed to be an extension of EN 13697. EN 13697 provides customers with an initial antimicrobial activity while PAS 2424 provides 24 hours residual efficacy data of a disinfectant’s antimicrobial activity.

Step 2: Select your test microorganisms

These are the mandatory test organisms that includes bactericidal and yeasticidal activity:

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa
  • Staphylococcus aureus
  • Enterococcus hirae
  • Escherichia coli
  • Candida albicans

Wish to add more microorganisms? Click here for our full list of microorganisms.

Step 3: What would be your test concentration?

The test concentration is chosen according to the manufacturer’s recommendation. Your product could either be a ready-to-use disinfectant or a concentrated product that requires diluting, do let us know!

Step 3: You don't have to worry about choosing a contact time in PAS 2424!

These are the default contact times set in the test method:

  • Bactericidal activity: 5 minutes
  • Yeasticidal activity: 15 minutes
Step 4: Wondering about the soiling conditions? Not to worry!

Interfering substances, or commonly referred to as soiling, are used to mimic organic substances found on human skin, surfaces, and instruments. PAS 2424 has an obligatory soiling condition as follow:

  • Dirty condition: 3.0 g/L bovine serum albumin
Step 5: Place an order and send your sample to us

Fill the test request form and place an order via email at info@tecolab-global.com. We will advise on the quantity of sample required for testing.

You can deliver the sample to us via courier and provide us the tracking code. We will monitor the delivery status and inform you when we receive the sample.

Step 6: Track the status of your request

Once we have received your sample, we will provide a tracking number to you. You can easily track the status of your request here.

Step 7: Download your password-protected test report

Download your readily available test report online with just a single click using the link and password provided via email notification. We will receive a notification once you have downloaded the test report.

For safety purposes, the uploaded test report will self-destruct after 7 days.

Step 8: Analyze your passing criteria in the test report with our laboratory experts

In order to pass the test, the product shall demonstrate at least a 3 decimal log (lg) reduction (99.9%) for bacteria and yeast. The results from PAS 2424 shall only be considered if the product has achieved a 4 decimal log (lg) reduction (99.99%) in EN 13697.
